2008 Ernest Gaines Award Winner: Ravi Howard!

Ravi Howard, author of Like Trees, Walking, has just won the 2008 Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence.

For Like Trees, Walking, which is based on a true story of a modern day lynching in America, Ravi receives a $10,000 award and commemorative sculpture created by artist Robert Moreland at the award ceremony on January 29, 2009, at the Manship Theatre in Baton Rouge. 2008 has come and gone and we're all a year older without even realizing it. (Well maybe you have realized it, but sometimes it's best when reality is suspended).
